Monotony 001

- I can drive. Officially anyway. If you saw me driving at a snail's pace on the road and hesitating at every junction and bulging into other's lanes from time to time, you would conclude that I can't drive - except maybe drive my mother in the front passenger seat nuts. Don't ask why...

- I didn't do *that* well for my first test for any of my subjects. *That well* being a ridiculous mark I had set myself. I'm consoling myself that they're either A's or B's and that there were no horrible disasters except the chemistry one.

- My chemistry teacher said "five minutes left" and I went completely blank on the one last page. Literally blank. ::blush::

- I'm up to my neck in work. After all the time-management skills I've had to exercise to keep track of my music classes, homework, clubs and other stuff, I'm either going to become extremely efficient or die of asphyxiation at the end of the year. This is a very good time for self-doubt and a sudden decline in discipline. ::nods::

- Hehn saw me without glasses and thinks I should wear contacts because he thinks I look good without them - and kept repeating it. So, I told him the only one who'll get to see me without glasses is the one who'll be sleeping with me - and my optometrist. He was so taken aback. So funny.

- I've done too many proofs by induction... I'm actually starting to IM in mathematical sentences... Further maths = suicidal.

- I watched the figure skating competition and was amazed by the Russian skater and Canada's Jeffrey Buttle for different reasons ^^. And I found out what curling was... lol.

Testing... testing

Today was the first time I've ever played in a string ensemble in front of an audience and I'd have to say it was fun. We had to wait for an hour in the frigid hall where I got so cold that my teeth were chattering by the time we got on stage. But we got to sit up front for the show. It was the college's Chinese New Year function and we played some chinese song and two movements from Mozart's Eine Kleine Nahctmusik. It went better than expected. I think I only managed to play 70% of the piece. I was lost during the other 30%. But I consider that good because the piece is way above my level and everyone there was more experienced and skilled than me. Surprisingly, I didn't panic from stagefright like I always do. *whew*

Had to have lunch alone because all my friends had already eaten while I was busy performing. So I ate Indian food. I wouldn't usually eat there because my friends are all misers. Not that that's bad or anything. Just that I get tired of eaten the same every single day. ;)

Then our class had our first further maths test. The paper wasn't as vicious as I had expected or felt during the test. I panicked though (I knew I should have panicked earlier in the day ) and it took me a while to start thinking again. I don't really feel bad though I didn't finish the paper because even lots of smarter ones didn't. On reflection, I knew how to do the questions but my panic wasted precious time and made me all muddled. Must have irritated Hehn (he st beside me) to death with all my "shit shit shit!". *blush* I'm hoping for 50%. =)

I feel liberated because I have a driving test tomorrow and it means that I get to skip college. But at the same time, I'm wishing that I didn't have to miss it. Oh well, that's life. (My very shallow and uninteresting life at any rate)

CNY

I've been enjoying a week off college for CNY. Been catching up with studies and preparing for that test on Monday that the teachers have all been warning us about. And in my spare time, I did one of my projects that I've been putting off - handicraft earrings for my mother. *points up*

She was quite pleased. Not perfect though. But it was fun. ^^

I finally watched Brokeback Mountain. It was quite good... for a drama. The scenes near the end were so sad. Ennis was so indifferent... *sigh* Didn't like the way they kept on suddenly breaking down and crying though... not very realistically done. And Heath Ledger mumbled so much that I could barely understand him. So much for bb mountain.
